Dirty Dishes
Ralf Schmerberg (*1965, Stuttgart) lives and works as a film-maker, photographer, and producer in Berlin.
Feature films include Hommage à Noir and Poem. Commercials for Nike, Hewlett Packard, Lufthansa, American Express, the United Nations, and others. Some of his advertisements are now on exhibit in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Beads of fat in finger bowls or chicken legs at the edge of a dinner plate—commercial photographer and director Ralf Schmerberg presents ordinary yet unusual subjects in brilliant color photographs with astonishing aesthetic appeal. What is left over after meals is amazing colorful, sometimes a bit disgusting and frequently just plain wasteful. Dirty Dishes traces Schmerberg’s eye-opening journey of critical exploration through the wastelands of affluent society all over the world.
Ralf Schmerberg’s Collector’s Edition is composed of two photographs of liveried waiters at two leading international hotels carrying off the presumably high-priced and surely incredibly delicious leftovers from a gourmet dinner.
Collector's Editions will be shipped upon receipt of payment (including postage and handling) or credit card authorization.
