| Discussion of a series of selected construction projects by SOM
SOM Journal 9 is the most recent issue in a continuing series presenting the work of SOM in the context of a critical discussion. The process of review by a jury is a daring enterprise unique to SOM. The jurors for this issue were Michelle Addington, Stefan Behnisch, and Peter Rowe. The jury was held November 17 and 18, 2012 at the Maison de Verre, Paris, France.
It includes the essays “On Leadership and Authorship Dialogue with Olafur Eliasson and Helle Sjoholt,” by Peter MacKeith, “What Convinces is Conviction,” by Thomas de Monchaux, and “Clear All Ghosted, Maison de Verre,” by Kenneth Frampton.
The commentaries are written by Sarah Goldhagen, John Harwood, Sarah Whiting.
Projects featured:
Baietan Area Urban Design Master Plan, Guanghzou, China; Colpatria Residential Tower, Bogota, Colombia; Los Angeles Federal Courthouse, Los Angeles, California; The Strand, San Francisco, California.
