RETURNS POLICY FOR BOOKSELLERS

We aim to offer our trading partners fair and transparent conditions for returns. Please note the following regulations for returning publisher products:

1. Approval and Prerequisites

  • Returns fundamentally require prior written approval from the publisher or sales representative.
  • Exempt from this are damaged copies, recalls, and returns due to price changes.
  • Approval is granted exclusively for resaleable, undamaged copies.
  • Firmly acquired copies (without a return right agreed upon before delivery) can only be returned in justified exceptional cases.

2. Processing

  • Returned items must be sent exclusively to the delivery department.
  • Shipping and ancillary costs are borne by the sender.
  • For every return, the acquisition data (especially invoice number) and the return approval must be enclosed.
  • Unauthorized returns will not be credited or will only receive a reduced discount. The copies will not be returned.
  • A return rate of a maximum of 5% of the previous year's net sales applies.

3. Price Changes

According to § 3 Para. 6 of the Traffic Regulations, in the event of cancellations and reductions of retail prices, there is a right of return for copies acquired within the last twelve months.

  • The claim must be asserted within six weeks of notification.
  • Separate approval is not required in these cases.

4. Out-of-Print Titles and Deadlines

  • Titles that have been out of print for at least one year or whose price cancellation has been published in Börsenblatt for more than three months can no longer be returned.
  • Returns are possible at the earliest six months and at the latest 18 months after acquisition.
  • Copies acquired more than 18 months ago will not be credited.
  • For recalls, out-of-print notifications, or price changes: copies acquired within the last twelve months may be returned without approval; the claim must be asserted within eight weeks of notification.

5. Condition of Copies

  • Only perfect, brand-new copies without signs of use will be fully credited.
  • Damaged and/or unsaleable copies, as well as titles acquired more than 18 months ago, will not be credited.
  • In justified exceptional cases, a credit with a 75% discount may be issued.

6. Edition Change

  • In the event of an edition change, previous editions can be returned within eight weeks of the new edition's publication without approval.

7. Credit Rates

  • Undamaged copies, acquired within the last 365 days: credit at the acquisition discount.
  • Undamaged copies, acquired more than 365 days ago (but a maximum of 18 months): credit with 60% discount.
  • Damaged or too old copies (acquired more than 18 months ago): no credit, in exceptional cases 75% discount.
