Sean Scully

Sean Scully, born in Dublin on June 30, 1945, is one of the most prominent artists in the contemporary art scene. The Irish-born artist, who grew up in London and moved to New York in 1975, is strongly influenced in his work by movements such as Abstract Expressionism, Action Painting, and Minimalism. His creative output is intellectually accompanied by numerous writings and lectures. Today, Scully lives and works in New York, Aix-en-Provence, and Bavaria.
