| 5-volume publication series on the Philosophy:Art 2009-2011 cooperation event
Does beauty have a purpose? What is “real” art? Can pictures lie? Finding answers to these key questions in art theory, from the perspective of analytic philosophy, is the goal of this two-year-long series of events at five German museums, organized by the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the German Federal Cultural Foundation. Each volume in this five-part series of books documents the series of events at one of the museums and focuses on one theme, such as design, the mediation of art, or photography.
The fourth volume documents the conference at the Villa Stuck Museum in Munich and discusses the task and role of media in mediating art.
»Wer das Nachdenken über die angemessene Präsentation von Kunst intensivieren will, wird derzeit an diesen fünf Bänden nicht vorbeikommen.«
