This publication presents the work of the young German photographer Ulla Reimer from the period 1994 to 1995. The cycle comprises a total of 160 photos, all of which are included here. Ulla Reimer named the series of photos "Eclairs" to indicate the special character of her photos as capturing a moment and illuminating sections of reality in flashes which portray the cycle of human life as a whole, the dichotomy between human existence and inhuman environment. Ulla Reimer's photographs differ from conventional contemporary photography in their unusual handling of the material. She treats the negative like a canvas that becomes the medium of the artist's intervention in the darkroom. The result is a timeless aesthetic of lyricism and eroticism.
