This book is being published in celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Dr. Cantz’sche Druckerei, which was decisively formed by Walter Cantz, a compositor who turned his parents’ printing business into an international publishing company. With great commitment to art and working directly with artists and graphic designers—often uttering the phrase “perhaps we could do it this way, too”)—countless books were produced under his aegis combining the highest quality in terms of technology, manufacture, and content.
