The new yearbook offers an overview of the diverse tasks of the federal government, particularly in the fields of architecture, urban planning, and spatial planning, through a mixture of technical articles and thematically presented buildings and projects.
In a mixture of specialist contributions and themed presentations of buildings and projects, this new yearbook will provide an overview of the wide variety of activities undertaken by the Federal Government of Germany - particularly in the realms of architecture, town planning and area planning. The first volume will focus on 'Cultural Buildings at Home and Abroad' and on 'Government Buildings in Berlin' - reporting on buildings that have, in the main, already been realised. A separate section will present the results of different architectural competitions, while the last section will be devoted to the special theme 'Art and Buildings': besides the art concept of the Federal Government this will focus on the Balkenhol Project in New York and Gerhard Merz's work for the Foreign Office in Berlin. Furthermore there will be three expert contributions on town and area planning. Projects to be presented will include:ì Gemäldegalerie/Kulturforum, Berlin - DHM-Neubau, Berlin - Deutscher Dom, Berlin - Adenauer Stiftung, Bonn - Villa Garovaglio, Menaggio - Goethe Institute, Bordeaux Competitions will include:The German School in Peking - the German School in Budapest - the Museumsinsel, Berlin
