SASHA WALTZ & GUESTS – Contemporary Dance in Book form
Sasha Waltz is a choreographer who has had a significant impact on contemporary dance. Her work is known for its unique blend of dance, architecture, and visual arts. Now, for the first time, the work of Sasha Waltz & Guests is being published in book form.
Sasha Waltz & Guests – Over 30 Years of Influential Dance History
For over 30 years, the dance company Sasha Waltz & Guests has successfully toured internationally, presenting contemporary choreographies and choreographed operas worldwide. They also develop site-specific "Dialogues" projects and implement artistic-social initiatives. It's time for choreographer Sasha Waltz, along with the people who have been with her on her journey, to look back and forward. This book takes its time, offering readers new perspectives on her body of work. The 344-page book is bilingual (English/German) and will be available starting September 17.
65 Codes –An Encyclopedic Cabinet of Curiosities
As Sasha Waltz aptly describes it, "an ensemble is a living archive." But how does an ensemble remember? Beyond a simple chronology of events, the book highlights an aspect of memory that ensures the repeatability of dance: notation. Sasha Waltz's "scores" consist of fascinating terms, each designating a specific choreographic figure. The book takes 65 of these "codes" and presents them as an encyclopedic cabinet of curiosities, detached from their original context.

By linking them to art history and featuring guest contributions from various perspectives, the book creates a creative reordering of Sasha Waltz's work, making the scores dance once again in a new light.
To dance is to participate actively in the vibration of the universe
