Modernist metropolitan architecture, cultivated landscapes, and expansive skies form sharply contoured surfaces in the works of German artist Tim Eitel (*1971 in Leonberg). His paintings are populated by isolated, individual figures, or groups in which each member is involved in his own activity.

Eitel has become one of the most successful painters of his generation. In the past few years, his works have undergone a transformation. Sojourns in Los Angeles and New York have obviously influenced his ways of visualizing the world. His paintings contain more tension than they once did; social contrasts in the two large cities have cast a dark shadow on Eitel’s formerly shimmering, new world. This volume presents all of the artist’s work since 2004.
