The Düsseldorf firm of architects, Rhode, Kellermann, Wawrowsky + Partner, has a long history. Founded in 1950 by Helmut Rhode, in the sixties major projects led to a rapid increase in the size of the firm. Finally in 1971, collaboration with Friedel Kellermann and Hans-Günter Wawrowsky resulted in the formation of RKW, one of the largest firms of architects in Germany today. This book presents the first overview of the work of RKW + Partners. It illustrates selected recent projects different fields including the Centro Oberhausen, numerous multiplex cinemas and commissions for the Deutsche Bundesbahn. Texts by Manfred Sack, Frank Werner, Dieter Bartetzko, Dankwart Guratzsch, Michael Mönninger, Amber Sayah and Oliver Hamm set the firm's work in the context of contemporary building. This lavish, richly illustrated monograph also contains a further text by Helmut Rhode and a complete index of past projects.
