Richard Prince
Richard Prince
Richard Prince (*1949 in Panama Canal Zone) lives and works in Upstate New York.
1985, 1987, and 1997: Biennial Exhibition, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; 1992: Documenta IX, Kassel; numerous solo exhibitions in cities around the world.
Richard Prince’s provocative works offer a fresh, disrepectful view of images from popular American culture: shallow, chauvinistic jokes, biker blondes stretching their limbs, manly Marlboro cowboys. Although his pictures offer no commentary, they expose an utterly cold, hyper-American reality in amusing caricatures.
Three typical works are united in the C-print Joke, Girlfriend, Cowboy, which we are pleased to offer in a limited edition.
Collector's Editions will be shipped upon receipt of payment (including postage and handling) or credit card authorization.
