The photographs by documentary photographer Nikolaus Walter (*1945 in Rankweil) are timeless in the best sense of the word. He truly has the interests of people and their affairs at heart, and on his long journeys throughout the entire world he has captured thousands of touching episodes and scenes in masterly black-and-white photographs taken over a period of almost forty years. Walter’s photographs can easily compare with those by great photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Lebeck, or Robert Frank.

Our monograph presents approximately two hundred examples of Walter’s work, about which Margit Zuckriegl wrote: “His commitment to people and the circumstances of their lives are expressed in his photographs—as is his sensitive, profound gaze, which sees through façades and stereotypes.”

The work selected for the Collector’s Edition is of an endearing Irish street scene taken in the sixties, showing elderly gentlemen in bow ties engaged in watching a pleased young lady in a miniskirt. This photograph bridges the gap between tradition and the present.

Collector's Editions will be shipped upon receipt of payment (including postage and handling) or credit card authorization.
