The Index Kunstpreis 2010 will be awarded inHamburg in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Index exhibition series. Out of the 180 participating artists, a jury of experts—Yilmaz Dziewior, Christoph Heinrich, Martin Köttering, and Susanne Pfeffer—selected twenty-seven candidates, who will be introduced in an exhibition at the Kunsthaus Hamburg in November 2010.
Index was conceived in 2001 as an exhibition for the presentation of an overview of contemporary art being produced in Hamburg. A monograph devoted to the works of the prizewinner will be published in spring 2011, also by Hatje Cantz. Among the nominees are Ulla von Brandenburg, Thorsten Brinkmann, Michael Conrads, Cordula Ditz, Jürgen Von Dückerhoff, Philip Gaisser, Monika Grzymala, Monika Michalko, and Peter Piller.
