Hans Hollein (*1934 in Vienna) successfully works as a visual artist, designer, and architect, and can be described as an “all-around artist.” Meanwhile, the Pritzker prizewinner and President of the Venice Architecture Biennale has become famous throughout the world for his architecture, while his artistic works from the sixties and seventies—which won him exhibitions at MoMA in New York and at the Centre Pompidou in Paris—like his design work from the seventies and eighties, have disappeared somewhat from the public eye. This extensive publication is the first to present the complete body of work by the artist, designer, theorist, curator, and architect. As a comprehensive assessment of Hollein’s oeuvre, this book makes a contribution to once again raising public awareness for his creative work. Exhibition schedule: Neue Galerie, Graz, November 27, 2011–April 9, 2012PETER WEIBEL (* 1944, Odessa) is an internationally known media and conceptual artist, curator, and art and media theoretician. Since the 1960s his work has firmly regarded artistic creativity as an open-ended field of activity. He was head of the ZKM, Karlsruhe until 2020. Since 2017 he has been director of the Peter Weibel Research Institute for Digital Culture at the Universität für angewandte Kunst in Vienna.
