Über Christiane Monarchi

Christiane Monarchi is the founding editor of the online magazine Photomonitor, dedicated to photography and lens-based media in the UK and Ireland. Over the past 5 years Photomonitorhas published more than 750 features online from over 200 contributing artists and writers and maintains a comprehensive online listings guide for exhibitions, auctions and events in photography.
Christiane writes on photography for a variety of publications, has lectured at photography programmes including Central Saint Martins, Coventry, Sotheby's Institute, UCA Rochester and Westminster, has served as selector at Brighton Photo Fringe (2016), Uncertain States (2015) and Fathom/Four Corners residencies (2014, 2015) and judges competitions including Portrait Salon (2014) and Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize (2016). She has reviewed portfolios for festivals including FORMAT, WPO, Photo Ireland and Kaunas Photo Festival, serves as Chair of the Board of Photofusion and holds degrees including an MA in Contemporary Art History from Sotheby's Institute and an MBA from Columbia University.
In January Christiane will present her curated exhibition 'Gravitas' at London Art Fair (17-22 January, 2017) relating thirteen lens-based artists' exploration on adolescence.
