The collection, which has been on permanent loan to the Modern Art Collection in Munich for thirty years, contains world-famous masterpieces by Max Ernst, René Magritte, and Pablo Picasso, as well as figurative sculptures and paintings from the 1960s and ‘70s. In their works, artists such as Bruno Goller, Konrad Klapheck, Bernard Schultze, and Richard Oelze exaggerated or alienated reality in the wake of Surrealism.
