Having studied at the \u003cst1:PlaceName w:st=\"on\"\u003eReimann\u003c\/st1:PlaceName\u003e \u003cst1:PlaceType w:st=\"on\"\u003eSchool\u003c\/st1:PlaceType\u003e, she initially worked mainly as a fashion illustrator, reaching the peak of her artistic career between 1927 and 1930 with her intensely colourful genre scenes of \u003cst1:place w:st=\"on\"\u003e\u003cst1:State w:st=\"on\"\u003eBerlin\u003c\/st1:State\u003e\u003c\/st1:place\u003e’s sophisticated and glamorous high society. Her watercolours, in which she often portrayed the relationship between men and women in both amusing and biting terms, were published in the magazine Ulk where they were placed on a par with the work of Jeanne Mammen, a well-known artist of the time.\u003c?xml:namespace prefix = \"o\" ns = \"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office\" \/\u003e\u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/FONT\u003e\u003c\/SPAN\u003e\u003c\/P\u003e\n\u003cP class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt\"\u003e\u003cSPAN lang=EN-US style=\"FONT-FAMILY: TheSans; mso-ansi-language: EN-US\"\u003e\u003cFONT size=3\u003eIn 1933 Dodo followed the psychoanalyst Gerhard Adler to \u003cst1:place w:st=\"on\"\u003e\u003cst1:City w:st=\"on\"\u003eZurich\u003c\/st1:City\u003e\u003c\/st1:place\u003e where she met C. G. Jung. Her works from this phase attest to her intense feelings of guilt ensuing from the ménage-à-trois she was conducting with Adler and her husband Hans Bürgner. Executed in the style of the New Objectivity, they form a dramatic contrast to her earlier pictures. In 1936 Dodo, who was Jewish, had to emigrate to \u003cst1:place w:st=\"on\"\u003e\u003cst1:City w:st=\"on\"\u003eLondon\u003c\/st1:City\u003e\u003c\/st1:place\u003e.
