Working during the transition from Pop Art to Minimalism and Conceptual Art, Lozano created a radical, frequently obscene, and extremely provocative body of work in a world dominated by her male counterparts. Her brief career ended in the early seventies when she withdrew from the New York art scene, a move she presented in her \u003cI style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\"\u003eDropout Piece.\u003c?xml:namespace prefix = \"o\" ns = \"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office\" \/\u003e\u003co:p\u003e\u003c\/o:p\u003e\u003c\/I\u003e\u003c\/SPAN\u003e\u003c\/P\u003e\n\u003cP class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt\"\u003e\u003cSPAN lang=EN-US style=\"FONT-SIZE: 10.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: TheSans; mso-ansi-language: EN-US\"\u003eOnly recently has there been more interest in Lozano’s art, as the presence of her work at the documenta 12 and elsewhere demonstrates.
