In Book Cover Paintings, he transposes the covers of art books into his works, thereby demonstrating his own art-historical context, and presents this conceptual art, a kind of painting about painting, with seductive sensuality. In the flowing forms of his Blob Paintings, however, Zimmermann explores the expanding role of the media in painting. Using a computer, he distorts photographs into a digitalized abstraction, and then transfers them onto canvas.

<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" />

Exhibition schedule: Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, Paris, 6 January–February 2007 · The Happy Lion Gallery, Los Angeles, March 2007

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0582/8948/8049/files/odoo_9783775719599_27b9597a-dc3c-47dc-968f-a7dc5d210e34.jpg?v=1744126128
