All works are presented in four-color illustrations for the first time, and three essays shed new light on the significance of Richter\u0026#39;s editions within his oeuvre. In the editions, Richter has developed an almost encyclopedic system of pictorial practice, subjecting artistic media, genres, and historical paradigms to wide-ranging analytical reflection. In this process, he channels his deliberations on the changing cultural meanings of image and representation into a critical examination of the complex conditions and possibilities of artistic production in this age.
