This publication is the second volume in the series Concept: Photography, which the DZ BANK launched in 2007 in order to provide insight into the ongoing development of its art collection. The series accompanies theme exhibitions assembled in cooperation with leading international museums for the purpose of exploring current aspects of photographic art. Volume two presents classic genres such as portrait, architecture, cityscape, interior, landscape, and still life, with works by Kevin Clarke, Tacita Dean, Rodney Graham, Axel Hütte, Marie-Jo Lafontaine, Gordon Matta-Clark, Mario Merz, Katharina Sieverding, Thomas Struth, Wolfgang Tillmans, Andy Warhol, and many others. The accompanying texts include essays by Walter Grasskamp, Max Hollein, Luminita Sabau, and Martin Seel, as well as an appendix of artists’ biographies and bibliographies.
