The first concise overview of the oeuvre of Swiss artist Christian Philipp Müller’s work, including an interview.

Swiss conceptual artist Christian Philipp Müller (*1957) has lived in New York and Cologne for over a decade. He first gained international recognition for his contributions to the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 1993 and to documenta X in 1997. His artistic approach relies upon the study and analysis of social and cultural-historical situations. Since Müller’s work groups and projects are always balanced between social and aesthetic concerns, they are of central importance for the reception of museum-critical art of the 1990s. This publication accompanies the first retrospective of this artist’s works and features texts by Philipp Kaiser, Sabeth Buchmann, and Miwon Kwon, an interview with Christian Philipp Müller by James Meyer as well as a comprehensive index of works with concise descriptions of projects. Exhibition schedule: Kunstmuseum Basel, Museum für Gegenwartskunst, January 19–April 15, 2007
