Sculptor Johannes Brunner, born in 1963, and composer Raimund Ritz, born in 1964, both currently living in Munich, have been working together since 1990. Their collaboration has produced a number of extraordinary art projects devoted primarily to the theme of the cross-over between visual art and music, film, and theater. This book is the first extensive documentation of their installations in public space, their sound and musical theater productions, and their videos and films, including such diverse projects as U-Bahn-Orgel (Subway Organ) (1995), the short feature entitled Vom nassen Tod (A Wet Death) (1998), the Heiliger Lärm mass (Holy Noise) (1998), and the video opera VEX (1999). Prominent authors have contributed articles which illuminate the various facets of this equally unusual and complex oeuvre.
