Since its founding in 1948, the DEUTSCHE VERBAND FÜR KUNSTGESCHICHTE E.V. has represented the interests of all those who work in art history in Germany—whether at universities, museums, in the preservation of historical monuments, or in many other fields. As a professional association, it takes a stand on political decisions, organizes the Art Historians' Day, which takes place every two years, and offers the opportunity for further education in practice-relevant topics in various workshops.
