Wolfgang Tillmans If one thing matters, everything matters Wolfgang Tillmans (*1968, in Remscheid, Germany). After periods of work in Hamburg, Bournemouth, and New York, Tillmans has lived in London since 1996; 2003: appointed a professor at the Städelschule in Frankfurt; numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide. With the catalogue raisonné released in conjunction with his exhibition at the Tate, which covers the years 1978 to 2003 and features approximately 2,400 illustrations, Wolfgang Tillmans has produced the most extensive survey of his artistic oeuvre published to date. The collector's edition of the standard paperback catalogue is offered as a clothbound book with embossed lettering, signed by the author and accompanied by a C-print. "Please leave this one" (book, p. 270) is an image of an apple tree on his balcony, on which the last apple bears a message meant to protect it against theft by his neighbors' children - a classically laconic, subjective work by Tillmans.
