Yes, the Danes came—and even better, the Danes were a hit with the crowds! It's been nearly a month since we kicked off our summer events in the Felleshus, the pan-nordic building of the Nordic embassies (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden).

Silke Hohmann, editor of art journal Monopol, led the evening discussion and asked the guest speakers—Lars Dybdahl (design historian and exhibition designer at Denmark Design Museum), Kasper Salto (industrial designer), Lars HedeboOlsen (journalist and critic of the daily Politiken)— their personal thoughts on the specifications that define Danish design, why Scandinavian design in the higher sense still enjoys such enormous popularity, and how much esprit can exist in good design.

After the inspiring discussions, and with refreshments in hand, guests had the opportunity to walk through the exhibition hall on the first floor and marvel at the development of Danish design. Who would have ever thought that so many of the objects presented here have been considered for so long to be such built-in parts of our households.

Our special thanks go out to the Nordic embassies—the perfect setting for the event.
