Ken Schles
The Geometry of Innocence

Ken Schles (*1960).

1981: studied at the New York School for Social Research; 1982: received a B.F.A. from Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art; the recipient of numerous awards, including the Award for Book Design from the American Institute of Graphic Arts (1990) for Invisible City.

Spectacular, spontaneous, merciless, reportage-style images are the hallmark of photographer Ken Schles. Viewers of his works must be prepared for anything—pictures of cells on death row, police operations, surgery scenes photographed with no attempt to beautify. Despite the blinding speed with which he works, his photos exhibit an impressive aesthetic quality.

The photo selected for our Collector’s Edition is an unusual motif whose power lies in its detail and composition: a U.S. fighter jet taking off from the deck of an aircraft carrier under the watchful eyes of the flight controller, known as the shooter.

Collector's Editions will be shipped upon receipt of payment (including postage and handling) or credit card authorization.
