A note is a trace, a word, a drawing that suddenly becomes part of the thought process and is transformed into an idea. This publication project follows that path, presenting the mind in a prologue state, in a prepublic arena.

As a prelude to the 2012 exhibition, dOCUMENTA (13) and Hatje Cantz are publishing a series of notebooks, 100 Notes - 100 Thougths, comprising facsimiles of existing notebooks, commissioned essays, collaborations, and conversations. Volumes 001 to 085 are already available. Volumes 086 to 100 will be published in June 2012.
