More than two hundred first-rate works from the art collection of the DZ BANK have passed into the ownership of the Städel Museum in Frankfurt am Main. This catalogue assembles exemplary work complexes by seventy-six artists from the well-known collection of photographs, including primary works of the Becher School , works from the sixties and seventies, as well as examples of the growing presence of new media and globalized communication. It also contains works by Olafur Eliasson, Gilbert & George, Nan Goldin, Andreas Gursky, Robert Mapplethorpe, Sigmar Polke, Richard Prince, Robert Rauschenberg, Thomas Ruff, Thomas Struth, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and many others. The text section is supplemented by introductory texts by Luminita Sabau and Max Hollein and by Hubert Beck and Günter Engelhard, as well as by an appendix with biographies and bibliographies of the artists.
