A twenty-six-letterbook; a dictionary with pictures; a foreign language book; a surprise book; a fun-and-games book ... The ABC Book designed by B & B presents the twenty-six letters of our alphabet in pictures-as an inspiration for further thinking, searching, continuing, guessing. T for Trumpet; T for Table; T for Tube; T for Typography ... After their studies in Schwäbisch Gmünd and a short stay in Berlin, Barbara and Gerd Baumann (born in 1951 and 1950 respectively) returned to southern Germany to establish the architectural firm Baumann & Baumann. They developed all-inclusive design and communication concepts, and designed books and posters. Their works for the German Bundestag in Bonn, the Great Court of the British Museum in London, and international enterprises like DaimlerChrysler and Siemens are well known. In addition to a number of guest professorships, the designer-couple has lectured at home and abroad, and published many books and articles. They have also been honored with national and international awards. Their publication Room to move has also been published recently by Hatje Cantz. Awarded the red dot: best of the best 2004.
